Website Design
I have over 9 years experience in
website design and development. My sites can
be small
and simple or large and complex. Although I
love to create colorful detailed graphics
I
know when to keep it clean and simple. I can
use DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS to control
appearance
or create interaction. Website pages can be
dynamically generated by incorporating server
side scripting such as PHP, ASP, or ASP.NET
and a database application like SQL or MySQL.
I also have experience with designing and
updating e-commerce sites.
It is important that websites are designed to
include the following characteristics:
- site element continuity
- intuitive navigation
- smart use of resources
- fast load-in time
- cross browser compatibility
- easy to update
- easy to upgrade or expand
- attractive to search engines

Graphic Design
I have over 20 years experience as a Graphic
Designer. My specialties include Website Graphics,
Advertising Design, Logo Design and Corporate
Identity, Software Graphics, Icons, Brochure/Menu
Design, Product Graphics, and Illustrations.
I can design for Digital Applications or Print.
Although most of my work these days is produced
using a computer, I do have much experience
producing works by hand and often enjoy projects
created using conventional media.
Flash Animation
I've been designing with Macromedia Flash for
two years. Most of my experience has been creating
animation sequences for banner ads, digital
post cards, or site graphic elements. It's getting
really fun, because I've been pushing the animation
to mimic things in real life (like fireworks).
Of course much of my inspiration also comes
from the work created by the geniuses at The
Cartoon Network.
Thus far I've designed one website in Flash
as a learning experiment and would like to do
more because it is such a powerful application.
Painting (acrylic on canvas)
Ever since I was a little boy I've been painting
with Acrylics. I have done paintings in a number
of different media but I really like the control
I get with Acylics. I also like the easy water
cleanup and quick drying time.
Lately I've been really working on perfecting
my style and hope to spend a lot more time this
year painting.
